FIRST LADY CALLS ON NIGERIANS TO PROTECT ENVIRONMENT, EMBRACE CLEAN ENERGY

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has urged Nigerians to take environmental protection seriously by adopting clean energy solutions and promoting a culture of cleanliness.
She made the call in Abuja on Monday while marking the International Day of Clean Energy 2026, observed globally under the theme “Clean Energy for People and Planet.”
According to the First Lady, the annual observance highlights the collective responsibility of citizens to protect and preserve the environment for sustainable living.
She emphasised that renewable energy and environmentally friendly technologies are essential for human survival, improved public health, and responsible environmental management.
Senator Tinubu called for collective action towards building a greener and healthier planet, stressing that environmental stewardship must be embraced at all levels of society.
She also congratulated Nigerians on the celebration of the International Day of Clean Energy.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the International Day of Clean Energy is observed every January 26, following its declaration by the United Nations General Assembly through Resolution A/77/327.
The observance aims to promote awareness and encourage global action towards a fair and inclusive transition to clean energy for the benefit of people and the planet.
