BREAKING: INEC RELEASES SCHEDULED DATES FOR 2027 GENERAL ELECTIONS

THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially unveiled the timetable and comprehensive schedule for the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during a press briefing in Abuja on Friday, the Commission’s Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, dismissed earlier media reports claiming that the electoral body had already published the election timetable prior to the official announcement.

Amupitan explained that the issuance of the election schedule aligns with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution and the Electoral Act, 2022 (as amended).

According to the Commission, the Presidential Election is slated for 20th February, 2027, while governorship, senatorial, and other federal and state assembly elections will take place on 6th March, 2027.
