Date: Sunday, 15th February, 2026 (27th Sha'ban, 1447 AH).

SUPREME Court of Saudi Arabia has appealed to Muslims throughout the Kingdom to look out for the crescent moon that will signal the commencement of Ramadan 1447 AH.

In a public notice issued ahead of the expected date, the Court requested that citizens and residents observe the sky on the evening of Tuesday, 29 Sha’ban 1447 AH, which corresponds to February 17, 2026, based on the Umm Al-Qura calendar.

“The sighting of the crescent is the established method for confirming the beginning of the blessed month,” the statement noted, urging collective participation in the process.

Authorities encouraged individuals who are able to sight the moon—either with the unaided eye or by using optical aids such as binoculars—to report their observation to the nearest court and formally record their testimony.

“The Court calls upon anyone who witnesses the crescent to come forward and register their statement without delay,” the announcement emphasized, highlighting the importance of verified testimony in determining the official start of Ramadan.

Ramadan, regarded as the holiest month in Islam, is observed through fasting from dawn to sunset, increased devotion, charity, and spiritual reflection. The official declaration will be made following confirmed reports from credible witnesses.

Pen Blog Media, by the God's supreme grace, will provide updates as soon as the Kingdom announces its final decision regarding the commencement of Ramadan 1447 AH.
