U.S, ISRAEL EXPLORE CEASEFIRE TALKS WITH IRAN AS TEHRAN DENIES CLAIMS

THE United States and Israel are reportedly exploring options for a ceasefire with Iran, even as the conflict continues to intensify across the region.

U.S. officials say indirect engagement is ongoing through intermediaries, describing the contacts as constructive efforts toward de-escalation. In a related move, Washington has temporarily held back some planned strikes, particularly those targeting Iran’s energy facilities, signaling a possible diplomatic opening.

Despite this, Israel continues its military operations, carrying out fresh strikes with no clear indication of aligning with the proposed diplomatic efforts.

In response, Iran has taken a firm and cautious stance. Authorities in Tehran have rejected claims of active negotiations, stressing that no direct talks with the United States are taking place. While acknowledging the exchange of messages via third parties, officials insist that this does not amount to formal dialogue.

Iran has also outlined strict conditions for any ceasefire, including a complete halt to U.S. and Israeli attacks, assurances against further aggression, potential accountability measures, including compensation, among others.

Within Iran, some factions have adopted a hardline position, opposing negotiations under pressure and calling for continued retaliation before any diplomatic step is considered.

These contrasting positions underscore a widening gap between the parties. While the U.S. signals readiness for de-escalation, Iran remains skeptical and non-committal, reducing the likelihood of an immediate ceasefire.

As tensions persist, attention remains on whether these indirect contacts can progress into formal negotiations—or if continued hostilities will further hinder peace efforts.
