REPORTS circulating in the early morning of Thursday (today) claim that some candidates wearing hijab may have faced restrictions while attempting to sit for the UTME at Esther Oshikoya CBT Centre, Sango–Eleyele Road, Ibadan.

The situation remains unverified at the time of filing this report.

According to the claims, certain candidates were allegedly asked to remove their hijab before gaining entry into the exam hall.

Meanwhile, there has been no official confirmation from JAMB or local authorities regarding the incident.

JAMB’s examination guidelines permit the use of hijab, aligning with constitutional protections on religious freedom, and any enforcement against this would contradict existing policy.
