THE Federal Government of Nigeria has announced the appointment of Professor Segun Aina as the new Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), bringing a new chapter to the leadership of Nigeria’s tertiary admission body.

The appointment, approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, comes as the tenure of the current Registrar, Professor Is-haq Oloyede, approaches its scheduled conclusion later this year.

Professor Aina, a specialist in Computer Engineering and digital systems, is expected to officially assume office after the completion of Oloyede’s term. Reports surrounding the announcement indicate that the incoming Registrar has built a career around technology, academic research, and examination system development.

His emergence is drawing attention in educational circles, particularly because of his comparatively young age and technology-oriented background. Observers believe his experience in digital infrastructure and institutional systems could influence future developments within JAMB's operations.
